The Bumper Guy originated in South Africa in 1994 as a small mobile bumper repair business. It soon grew into a thriving minor collision repair facility which specialized in cosmetic automotive repairs. In 1998, the founder, Daryl Varkel, immigrated to the USA.

Daryl started doing small mobile bumper repairs under the name of “Touch n Go”. Through exceptional customer service and quality of work, the business fast outgrew the ability to cope with the demand for mobile service. In 2006, the business moved to Irvine and the name was changed to “The Bumper Guy”.
